A new format is being introduced for the 20th annual Gillette Home Run Derby at Target Field in Minneapolis. Ten players will compete in the event on July 14 at Target Field, five from the American League and five from the National League.

Unfortunately, those underwhelming strikes piled up for more than a few players involved in the Home Run Derby. The 27-year-old put on a show with 32 total home runs on the evening and outdueled Bryce Harper in the finale. Was the last NL player to win the Derby as a member of the Milwaukee Brewers in 2009. The semifinal winners will compete for the crown of Home Run Derby champion. The participant from each league with the most home runs will advance to the finals.
